Under Pressure, 2025

Under Pressure is an assembly system developed during a residency at the Fondation Martell using exclusively materials recovered from the institution’s waste and storage containers.

Inspired by the tensioning systems used in the vineyards surrounding the foundation, the project transforms pressure into the structural principle of a family of furniture assembled without drilling, adhesives, or irreversible processes. By releasing the tension, the joint disappears, allowing all components to be separated and reused without altering the original materials. Rather than a collection of objects, the project investigates how an existing construction logic can be reinterpreted to generate new applications.

Through reversible mechanical joints and recovered materials, Under Pressure explores the principles of Design for Disassembly, understanding furniture as a temporary system capable of adapting, being dismantled, and evolving without generating waste.

Still Marble, On Going

Still Marble explores the life of marble beyond its first use. Historically associated with value, permanence, and luxury, marble often becomes waste once broken, despite all the energy, time, and labour invested in its extraction and transformation.

The project began during a workshop at Mármoles Covarrubias, investigating the potential of fragments discarded by the industry, and continued to develop thanks to the Injuve Young Creation Grants. Each table is made from a unique selection of marble leftovers assembled through a simple interlocking system that allows the structure to be resolved without additional elements.

Each composition is unique, while the construction system remains constant, demonstrating how design can create new opportunities for materials considered waste without altering their nature.

Sobre Mesa, 2025

Set design for the exhibition Sobre Mesa, presented during Lisbon Design Week at the Arquivo Aires Mateus and co-curated by MUT Design and João Xará. The project develops a family of structures built using the AV90 system, including self-standing frames for photographs by Miguel Flor and a ten-metre ramp made from galvanized tubes and FFROM 01 and FFROM 02 surfaces by Cosentino, designed by Formafantasma. Based on the same construction language, the system generates different exhibition structures capable of responding to diverse requirements while maintaining a common logic. Conceived as a flexible and demountable infrastructure, the installation can be reconfigured and adapted to future exhibition contexts without the need to manufacture new elements. The project understands exhibition design as an open system in which a reduced set of components can produce multiple solutions depending on the context.

Taules Babel

Collection of 25 tables developed for the bar at Cines Babel through the transformation of its existing furniture. The project reuses the original 40 mm MDF tabletops and reduces the welded metal frames to a single central leg, transforming each table into an independent and reusable structural unit. This simplification not only reduces the amount of material required, but transforms a specific component into a system capable of accommodating different tabletop geometries, dimensions, and future applications, from new tables to other furniture typologies. Rather than replacing the existing furniture, the project proposes an approach to renovation based on preserving what remains useful and redefining only what is necessary. The 25 tables were produced exclusively from the original furniture of the bar, demonstrating how a minimal intervention in an existing system can expand its possibilities and extend its useful life without introducing new resources.
